Public Safety Committee (PSC)

The PSC was proposed in 2009 and established in 2010 by Resolution 10-04. The PSC is an advisory committee to the City Commission consisting of Dunedin residents with interest and experience in public safety (law enforcement, fire protection, emergency services). Seven members are appointed to serve 3-year terms. Like all elected or appointed officials, PSC members affirm and agree to uphold the City Commission’s Code of Core Values for Civility and Ethics. All meetings, minutes and records of the PSC are open and available to the public.

Responsibility

The primary duty of the PSC is to assess quality of life issues it considers relevant to public safety, make recommendations to the City Commission on public safety issues, and to inform the public.

  • Fire protection and prevention
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Disaster Preparedness
