2014 Committee events:
In January, we set up a table at the Senior Awareness Fair at the Hale Center. This well-attended event brought some attention to our group. We offered pens and collapsible wheelchair flags, and distributed flyers for the ADA resources and the Family Network on Disabilities, whose headquarters are located here in Dunedin.
THIS YEAR, we are planning another outreach to our Community in the spring. Please stay tuned for details!
2013 Committee events:
In January, we were visited by members of Dunedin Community Gardens. They asked for our input on creating disable-friendly garden beds at their facility on Virginia Street. In March, we all met there to view the six beautiful new ADA garden beds! These garden beds are available to the public and are currently filled up.
In April, we visited Honeymoon Island's new limitless playground. Park Manager Pete Krulder talked to the group about ADA accessibility at Honeymoon Island and the services available.
