Economic Development Master Plan

The purpose of the Economic Development Master Plan is to offer a framework for discussing options and strategies available to the City as we seek to achieve a stable source of revenue with which to support the core services that we provide to the community.

The intention is for this plan to serve as a blueprint to guide the City over the next 10 years. The plan focused on four main goals:

  • Diversify the economy
  • Establish a business/housing-friendly environment
  • Enhance quality of life
  • Tourism

Downtown/Gateway Market Assessment

City Commission directed staff to retain a consultant to perform a market assessment of downtown Dunedin and the Gateway.  The goal of the market analysis was to view current conditions in the downtown and identify possible opportunities for the redevelopment of the Gateway property.

With this goal in mind, Lambert Advisory was retained as the consultant to perform such a study and their PowerPoint is attached which outlines their findings.

Economic Impact Analysis

Staff retained consultant WTL+a to perform an economic update of the downtown as a measure to view the overall health of downtown and note the positive economic impacts that arise from Main Street.  This analysis will serve as a basis and precursor to Visioning.
